Truck driver dies in one-vehicle crash

Massachusetts (August 18,2011) According to Massachusetts State Police one person was killed in a crash at about 7 a.m. on Interstate 95 South in North Attleboro north of Exit 5.

State Police state that a Care Van discovered a commercial van in the wooded median between the two sides of the highway.

According to Trooper Paul Dockrey the driver lost control of his vehicle after the left front tire blew out. Rescue Crews pronounced the driver of the refrigerated van deceased at the scene.

An investigation is underway.  Trooper Sean O’Brien stated that the van was traveling south on Route 95, veered off the roadway north of Exit 5, and crashed into the median.

At this time the left lanes in both directions are closed for the crash investigation causing traffic to back up for several miles on Interstate 95.

All lanes were reopened around 9:30 a.m.

Massachusetts State Police have identified the driver as La Phan, 49, of Plymouth.
