Truck Fire on I-95

Rhode Island (November 20,2011)  A semi and car caught fire on Interstate 95 north in Warwick, R.I. near exit 15  around 5 a.m. Sunday morning.  According to Rhode Island State Police, the driver of the semi, Eduardo Cruz of Kearney, N.J. hit an abandoned car which was disabled in the breakdown lane.   The force of the impact caused both the car and the semi to ignite into flames. Kearney was transporting a load of chestnuts from New Jersey to New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Luckily no one was injured in the crash.  Traffic was diverted to Jefferson Boulevard while State Police investigated the cause of the accident.  At noon all Northbound lanes were re- opened for travel.
