Aberdeen Police Officer killed in Accident on I-95 in Maryland

Maryland (September 8, 2012)  A Police Officer was killed in an accident on Interstate 95 in Baltimore City.  The accident occurred on I-95 North near exit 52- MD 295 north (Russell Street)-shortly after 3:00 a.m. according to State Police.

First Class Officer Charles N. Armetta was riding in a limousine with other passengers which had pulled over near Exit 52.  Officer Armetta got out of the limousine and fell off the roadway into a wooded area, almost 50 feet below him.

Armetta, a 29-year-old from Joppa, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation.
