Business owner killed on I-95

Georgia (August 22, 2011)  Gary Tabb, 55, was killed on Interstate 95 North near Exit 38-Brunswick on Monday morning.  Tabb had pulled his pickup truck onto the shoulder of I-95 around 10:15 a.m. and was attempting to cross the northbound lanes when he was struck by a vehicle in the center lane.

Gary Tabb, a successful businessman, was the owner of The Pizza Peddler and two pawn shops.  It is believed that Tabb was attempting to get something that may have blown out of the bed of his truck.

The driver of the striking vehicle, Gerald Franklin, 59 was unable to avoid hitting Tabb.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the fatal accident.
