Car Carrier Ignites in New Jersey on I-95

New Jersey (June 29, 2012)  A car-carrier fire occurred on Interstate 95 in Bergen County.  The accident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. in the northbound express lanes near exit 70 (Teaneck, Leonia) according to New Jersey state police.

The tire on the car carrier caught on fire which rapidly spread and engulfed the cars on the carrier.  Teaneck Fire crews worked on the scene with temperatures at 100 degrees, resulting in major delays.

Luckily, there were no injuries.

The accident is under investigation by NJ state police.
