Carrier Truck drops Car on I-95

Connecticut (October 14, 2011)  A car fell off a truck and rolled over on I-95 north causing traffic to back up in both directions.  A truck carrier was hauling the vehicle when for some unknown reason the vehicle broke loose, landing in the right and center lanes of I-95 near Exit 7- Greenwich Avenue.  The accident occurred around 12:45 p.m. and did not involve any other vehicles.

Authorities closed the right and center lanes while crews cleaned up the accident site.

All lanes were re-opened around 2 p.m. but not before traffic had backed up for over 5 miles on I-95 north.

Police are investigating the accident.
