Fatal Accident on I-95 in Virginia

Virginia (August 29, 2012)  A man was killed in an accident on I-95 in Fairfax County.  The crash occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m.in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Exit 166B -SR 286 (Fairfax County Parkway), according to Virginia State Police.

Edwin H. Hall was driving a tanker filled with 9,000 gallons of fuel when for some unknown reason the tanker overturned and ignited as it tried to merge onto the Interstate.  Emergency crews worked on the scene to extinguish the fiery wreck and later found the body of the driver in the cab.

Edwin H. Hall, a 59-year-old man from Charles Town, West Virginia died at the scene of the accident.

The accident remains under investigation.

Woman Killed in Fiery Crash on I-95 in Virginia

Virginia (August 24, 2012)  A woman was killed in an accident On I-95 in Stafford County Wednesday night.  The crash occurred shortly before 9:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near the American Legion Road overpass according to Virginia State Police.

Monica C. Andre was driving her 2012 Nissan Altima when for some unknown reason she went off the roadway and struck a tree.  The impact of the crash caused the car to burst into flames.

A truck driver rescued a passenger in the back seat, 19-year-old Natalie Andre, the daughter of the driver.  Emergency crews and police were able to get the driver and another passenger, 18-year-old Jonathan Holmes, out of the burning car.

Monica C. Andre, a 32-year-old woman from Brooklyn, N.Y., was transported to VCU Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.

The other two passenger were transported to Mary Washington Hospital.

All three occupants were wearing their safety belts.

The accident is under investigation.
