Chase on I-95 Ends in Crash

Virginia (October 18, 2011)  A Police officer was injured in a police chase that ended in a crash on I-95 early Tuesday morning.  The incident unfolded around 4 a.m. when a Fairfax County Officer attempted to pull over a suspect for a traffic offense.  The suspect refused to stop and tried to flee the scene.

Police chased the suspect onto I-395 where they used a PIT maneuver, causing the suspects vehicle to spin out.  The Police vehicles were able to pin the suspect’s vehicle against the guardrail.  The suspect attempted to run from the scene but was quickly arrested.

The Fairfax County Officer sustained minor injuries.  The Suspect was also sustained minor injuries and transported to the hospital.

The crash forced the closure of one lane and caused a traffic bottleneck during the early morning commute.

The Fairfax County Police are investigating the incident and the suspect faces a list of potential charges.
