Florida (June 15, 2012) A teenager was killed in an accident on I-95 early Friday morning in Duval County. The accident occurred shortly before 1:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 just north of exit 366, Pecan Park Road, according to FHP.
Blaine Swaim, was driving a red Chevrolet truck when he swerved to avoid a deer on I-95. As a result the truck hit the metal barrier and then slammed into a pole. One of the two passengers, 19-year-old Daniel Abell, died in the crash. The driver, 20-year-old Blaine Swaim, and another passenger, 14-year-old Dakota McLeod, were both taken to Shands Jacksonville Hospital in serious condition.
None of the passengers were wearing safety belts.
