Driver Killed When Tractor-trailer Overturns

New Jersey (November 8, 2011)  A tractor-trailer driver was killed when his rig overturned on the entrance ramp for the New Jersey Turnpike / I-95 in Monroe County.  According to the New Jersey State Police the fatal accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at on ramp for outer lanes of the Turnpike at Exit 8A.

The driver, Emil Deleon, of Union City, was hauling recycled paper when his tractor-trailer overturned on the metal guardrail, the vehicle came to rest with the driver side of the rig on top of the guardrail.

Emil Deleon, 39, was extricated from the wreck, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The New Jersey State Police and the Monroe Fire Department responded to the crash.
The ramp was closed for several hours as State police investigated the cause of the accident.
