Driver Struck and Killed on I-95

Connecticut (March 18, 2012)  A driver was struck and killed on I-95 south Sunday night in West Haven.  The fatal accident occurred around 9:20 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Exit 42-Saw Mill Road, according to Lt. J. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police.

Peter Kohn, 38, was driving south on Interstate 95 when he struck the center concrete barrier.  Kohn got out of his vehicle to inspect the damage when a passing vehicle struck him.  The driver of the striking vehicle stopped at the scene.

Kohn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic was backed up for several hours as Authorities closed the southbound lanes of I-95.  All lanes of I-95 were re-opened around midnight.

The Connecticut State Police are still investigating the fatal accident, no charges have been filed at this time.
