Dump Truck Bed Strikes Overpass

Maine (June 17, 2011)  A Dump Truck on I-95 North struck the overpass at Route 7 when the bed of the Dump truck rose up.  According to the State Police a car travelling behind the Dump truck noticed the bed rising and tried to warn the driver of the truck, Malcom Moon.  The Dump Truck bed struck the overpass ripping the empty bed from the body of the truck and the truck rolled into a ditch on the side of the road.  The driver of the Dump truck was transported to the hospital.  The Department of Transportation was called to inspect the overpass for damage.  State Police are still investigating to determine exactly why the tuck bed was raised.  Photo from WCSH
