Eight Car Pile Up on I-695

Maryland (December 11, 2011)  At least six people were injured, including a State trooper in a multiple vehicle accident on I-695 in Baltimore County.  The pile up occurred around 7:00 a.m. on the Outer Loop of I-695 near Exit 13-Fredrick Avenue when eight vehicles were involved in a series of crashes.

According to the Maryland State Police a woman was struck as she got out of her vehicle to assist other victims in the crash.  The woman was pinned against her vehicle, she was transported to University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Center.

A Maryland State cut his hand on some broken glass and was transported to Sinai for treatment.

Two other people were injured and transported to University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma Center..

Traffic was backed up in the area as Police investigated the scene and worked to clean up the debris from the accident.  All lanes of the Outer Loop were re-opened by 8:30 a.m.

The Maryland State Police is investigating the cause of the accident.
