Fatal Collision on I-495

Maryland (November 4, 2011)  A man was killed after crashing into the rear of a tractor-trailer just after 2:00 a.m. Friday morning.  According to the Maryland State Police the fatal  accident happened on the Inner Loop of I-495 when a driver smashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer that had slowed down in the construction zone.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Rudolph Wilson had his blinker on as he approached Exit 31.  Ryan Joseph McCann, driving a Pontiac Bonneville was unable to stop in time and crashed into the rear of the tractor-trailer.

The 20 year-old Ryan Joseph McCann of Mt. Airy was killed in the accident.

The accident forced authorities to closed I-495 between Exit 33-Connecticut Avenue and Exit 31-Georgia Avenue for 3 hours.

The Maryland State Police are investigating the fatal accident.
