Fatality in South Carolina on I-95

South Carolina (March 27, 2012)  An elderly woman was killed in a single vehicle accident on I-95 in Florence County.  The accident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 95 North according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Betty Scattazahn, was driving a 2002 Chevy truck when she veered off the left side of the road causing her to hit the median barrier.  As a result the truck overturned into the trees.

Both the driver and her 80-year-old passenger were taken to McLeod Regional Medical Center.  Sadly, Betty Scattazahn succombed to her injuries.  She was from Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

Seatbelts were worn by both occupants.
