Virginia (July 31, 2012) A Stafford County man was seriously injured in a five- vehicle Chain reaction accident on Interstate 95 in Prince William County. The crash occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon in the HOV lanes on southbound I-95 near Dumfries, mm 153, according to Virginia State Police.
A Ford F-150 started the chain-reaction crash when it did not brake for traffic and hit a Honda Civic. This caused the Honda Civic, driven by a 33-year-old Stafford man, to veer to the right and go under a Toyota Sienna. As a result the Toyota Sienna flipped over striking a Honda Accord.
The driver of the pick-up truck, Jason Cannon, a 37-year-old man from King George, preceded to veer to the left after hitting the Civic and collided with a Hyundai Accent. Cannon was charged with reckless driving.
The driver of the Honda Civic was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
