Four Vehicle Accident on I-95 South

Delaware (October 21, 2011)  A four vehicle accident on I-95 south around 6 a.m. caused two vehicles to overturn.  According to the Delaware State Police the accident occurred just before Exit 1B- near the Route 72 overpass when a vehicle attempted to change lanes.

A Honda Fit was changing lanes when it collided with a Toyota Tacoma, causing two other vehicles to crash.  A pick up truck and the Honda Fit went off the right side of Interstate 95 coming to rest in the grass median.

Several people were injured and taken to the hospital.

The crash forced authorities to close two of the three southbound lanes.

Police cited the driver of the Honda Fit for an unsafe lane change.
