Florida (August 11, 2012) A sleepy driver behind the wheel of a car caused a serious accident on I-95 in Flagler County. The crash occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Saturday morning in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near mm 283 according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Kelly M. Frazier, was driving her 2009 Ford Focus when she fell asleep at the wheel and slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer. The impact of the crash caused the Focus to malfunction and stall out. The tractor-trailer left the scene of the accident and Frazier ran from her car to the shoulder of the roadway and called 911.
Martin Seneosacarlos, was driving his semi when he came upon the Ford Focus and steered to the left to avoid the disabled car but then overturned when he tried not to hit the guardrail. His semi came to rest in the grassy median with a leaking gas tank.
Furman Craft, was driving his semi which sustained extensive damage from hiting the debris in the roadway.
Kelly Frazier, a 20-year-old female from Palm Coast, was charged with careless driving, having a suspended license and no insurance.
Luckily, no one was seriously injured.
