Hit-and-Run Leads to Chase on I-95

Connecticut (May 24, 2011) A Stamford man has been arrested after allegedly leading Police on a chase down I-95 north., after a hit and run incident. John C. Romano, 37, was charged with engaging police in a pursuit, driving while under the influence of alcohol, and failure to drive right.

According to the police they received a description of an SUV that had fled scene of an accident in Stamford. When an officer identified a vehicle matching the description the sped off down I-95 north. The pursuit began at entrance 11 as Romano tried to evade police. Police were able to box Romano’s vehicle in at exit 14 in Norwalk. The suspect refused to exit his vehicle as police approached with their guns. Romano was forcibly removed from his 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee and arrested.
