I-95 Ramp closed when Log truck rolls over

Virginia (September 4, 2011)  A log truck crashed exiting I-95 at Wythe Street, in Petersburg Sunday morning around 7:45 a.m. spilling its cargo.  According to the Petersburg Police the log truck rolled over when attempting to make a right turn onto Wythe Street causing logs to litter the roadway.

The Virginia Department of Transportation closed Exit 50D-Wythe Street of I-95 for two hours as the Petersburg Department of Fire worked to clean up about 20 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled in the accident.  The logging company sent a truck to clean up the logs and load them onto a replacement truck.

The Driver and passenger in the log truck were not injured.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
