Icy Roads made Travel in New Hampshire Hazardous

New Hampshire (December 21, 2011)  A wintry mix has caused roads to ice up in New Hampshire resulting in numerous accidents.  The New Hampshire State Police are that several dozen cars have slid off of I-95 due to the icy conditions.

Several accidents and rollovers have been reported.  Serious delays began around 6:30 a.m. when three vehicles collided near Exit 3B on Interstate 95 south.  A multiple vehicle accident near Exit 7 involving two cars and two 18-wheelers has been reported.

Icy roads across the state have cars sliding off the roadways creating a nightmare commute.

New Hampshire State Police say commuters are traveling too fast for conditions.

The Portsmouth Police Department is urging motorist to stay off the roadways this morning,  I-95 has been closed down as of 8:40 a.m.

Authorities have also closed a portion of I-93 near exit 6 as crews work to clear a wreck.

UPDATE: 10:00 a.m. Interstate 95 has been re-opened, please allow extra time for your commute.
