Man Critically Injured in Crash

Virginia (February 19, 2012)  One man was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on I-95 north in Prince George County.  The crash occurred around 6:20 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 just past Exit 46-I 295, according to the Sergeant. Thomas J. Molnar of the Virginia State Police.

The driver of a Ford Mustang lost control of his vehicle and went off the right side of I-95 and struck the metal guardrail.  The Ford then traveled back into the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 and was hit by a Dodge pickup truck.

The male driver of the Ford sustained serious injuries and was transported to Southside Regional Medical Center.  A male passenger in the Ford was also injured and taken to the hospital.  The driver of the pickup and his female passenger were injured and transported by ambulance to Southside Regional Medical Center.

Police closed I-95 northbound as they investigated the scene and assisted the injured.  The Virginia State Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
