Milk Truck Overturns, Blocks Traffic

Waterview, Maine (April 3, 2011) – A tractor-trailer driver, Matthew French, escaped serious injury when an SUV ,driven by 31 year old Nicholas Hayden, fish-tailed in front of the Day’s Milk Transport truck. Hayden was driving in the center lane when  his 2005 Suzuki XL7 to fishtailed, to the right lane, directly in front the truck. French attempted to get out of the way but the right guard rail halted any way of escaping the accident. The tractor-trailer then hit the guard rail, overturned, and blocked traffic for about 5 hours. Maine State Troopers report that the icy and slushy conditions of the highway were the main components of the accident.
Nicholas Hayden was taken to the hospital to be checked for possible head injuries and was released the same day. Matthew French escaped any serious injury.
