Million Dollar Coin Collection Spilled on I-95

Florida (May 27, 2011) Demetri Cirillo was driving his Ford SUV north on I-95 to a coin show when the rear passenger tire blew causing the SUV to rollover as many as five times. During the rollover rare coins and cash was thrown across I-95. Dawn Cirillo, the driver’s wife who was a passenger in the vehicle sustained a fractured arm.

When Florida Highway Patrol Trooper arrived on the scene, Mr. Cirillo did not want to be treated for his injuries, as he was more concerned with recovering the nearly 1 Million dollars in rare coins and currency. Friends and FHP members assisted in gathering up the spilled money. Both Mr. & Mrs. Cirillo were eventually taken to the Hospital.
