Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on I-95

Florida (December 5, 2011)   A motorcyclist was seriously injured after crashing into the rear of a car on I-95 south in Broward County.  The accident occurred around 5 p.m. when Steven Watson, driving a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle struck the rear of a 2007 Hyundai that had slowed for traffic near Exit 19- Pembroke Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol the operator,  Steven Watson, 54, was not wearing a helmet and sustained serious injuries.  Watson was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

The crash, which happened at the height of rush hour traffic, caused a back up on Interstate 95 south for well over a mile.

The Florida Highway patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
