Motorcyclist killed on I-95 in Palm Beach County

Florida (March 16,2012)  A 50-year-old man from Dania Beach was killed in a motorcycle accident on I-95N in Palm Beach County.  The accident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. near exit 83 just underneath the Hood Road overpass on the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Yair Shatil experienced a mechanical problem which caused the motorcycle’s rear brake to lock,therefore losing control and falling onto I-95.  The victim was traveling with a group of six bikers, one of which was Boaz Edri, who then hit Shatil while he on the road.

Trauma Hawk landed and Shatil was flown to St.Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach stated Lt.Tim Frith of FHP.   Sadly, Yair Shatil died at the hospital.

Boaz Edri, a 39-year-old man from Hollywood, was taken by ambulance to St.Mary’s Medical Center.  His injuries were non-life-threatening.

Edri was wearing a helmet.  Shatil was not wearing a helmet.

The accident is still under investigation.

    I didn’t know you well, but I always would see you at temple events. At first glance, you were intimidating with your tough biker look, but you always would have some sort of smile on your face. It seemed like everyone who knew you loved you. I dont know if you can read this, because you are gone to a better place with the Kadosh Borechu, but you are certainly missed here. G-d Bless your family and hopefully he will give them the strength to move on from this tragedy.
