Update: Overturned tractor-trailer closes I-95 South

Virginia (August 31, 2011)  According to the Virginia State Police an overturned tractor-trailer has closed Interstate 95 South near Exit 74B-Franklin Street.  The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. after the tractor-trailer struck the center median concrete wall and flipped onto its side.

The tractor-trailer began spilling diesel fuel, forcing authorities to shut down Interstate 95 while crews worked to clean up scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Dalton Day was not injured.

The Virginia State Police are investigating the crash.

Interstate 95 south was reopened at 1 a.m.
