Passenger shot on I-95

North Carolina (October 31, 2011)  A woman is in critical condition after being shot on I-95.  According to the Robeson County Sheriff’s office the incident occurred Sunday just after midnight when the passenger, Samantha Freeman was critically wounded. 

Samantha Freeman was sitting in the front passenger seat of a Chevy Pick up truck that was traveling south on Interstate 95.  The pick up was in the left lane when a sedan pulled along side in the right hand lane and fired shots into the pickup truck near Exit 25-Route25, striking Freeman in the leg and back.  The driver and other passenger were not injured.

The driver of the pick up truck rushed Samantha Freeman to Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.  Freeman has been transferred to Duke University Medical Center in Durham where she remains in critical conditions.
