Pedestrian Killed Attempting To Cross I-95 (Updated)

Connecticut (December 21,2011) Update:  State Police have released the name of the victim of a fatal accident on Interstate 95 as Jim Borson, 60, of West Haven.  

Borson was traveling north on I-95 wednesday evening when his vehicle became disabled in the center lane.  He exited the vehicle and crossed the right lane of I-95 and was attempting to cross the exit 41 ramp when he was struck by a Jeep.

The driver of the 1997 Jeep, Don Dufresne, was trying to exit I-95 when the fatal accident occurred.

The Connecticut State Police are still investigating the accident and ask if anyone has any information to please call them at 203-696-2500.  No charges have been filed at this time.

Original Story:  A man trying to cross I-95 on foot was struck and killed on I-95 in Orange.  The fatal accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Interstate 95 north near Exit 41-Marsh Hill Road.

Authorities have closed the right and center lanes as they investigate the fatal accident.  Traffic backed up quickly during the evening commute.  All lanes of I-95 were re-opened around 8 p.m. but traffic is still congested in the area.

Connecticut State Police are investigating the accident and have not release any further details
