Pedestrian Struck on I-95

Connecticut (September 10, 2011)  A 78 year-old pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on I-95 just after midnight according to the Connecticut State Police.  Larry Wolfe, was attempting to cross I-95 around 12:17 a.m. when he was hit by a 2006 Honda near Exit 60-Mungertown Road.

The driver of the Honda, James Hales, was traveling south on I-95 when he noticed the pedestrian in the roadway.  Hales veered to the right in an attempt to avoid the man, but the left side of his vehicle struck Wolfe.  Hales and a Good Samaritan stopped and assisted in getting the victim safely to the median.

Larry Wolfe sustained serious injuries and was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital.

The Connecticut State Police are investigating the accident.
