Pedestrian Killed While Walking on I-95

Killingworth, CT (March 27, 2011) – A man was hit by a tractor trailer on I-95 southbound just past Exit 61 on I-95 in CT.

Just before 11:30 a.m., 58-year-old, Richard Casey of Killingworth, CT was struck by a truck as he was walking along the interstate. He was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Westbrook’s State Police at Troop F believe Casey was walking on the highway after his car had broken down. It is uncertain how Casey was hit in the left lane when his vehicle was disabled in the far right lane.

According to police reports, the tractor trailer that hit Casey was driven by 54-year-old Claude McNeill of Brookfield, Canada. Presently, no charges have been filed against the driver.

The truck is owned by Seafood Express PEI Ltd., located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. It has been taken by police for further inspection.
