Rear-end collision kills New York woman

Virginia (August 13, 2011)  According to the Virginia State Police a rear-end collision claimed the life of a New York woman on I-95 north near Fredericksburg.  Around 2 p.m. a Ford F-150 had stopped due to congestion in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95, Shirley Botwin a passenger in a Honda minivan had stopped behind the pickup.

Monique Reyes, the driver of a Nissan Sentra was unable to stop, slamming into the rear of the Honda minivan, the force of the impact sent pushed the Honda into the rear of the Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Shirley Botwin died from her injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the Nissan, Monique Reyes was charged with following too closely.
