Roanoke Rapids Woman Killed During I-95 Accident

Halifax County, NC  March 15, 2011 –  Around 7:30 PM, a 57-year-old-woman of Roanoke Rapids, NC died after the pick up truck she was traveling in ran off the road, caught on fire, and hit several trees. Traveling southbound on I-95, the vehicle was carrying five passengers (four were related) when the accident occurred. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has reported that three passengers are still being hospitalized at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Alcohol and excessive speed were not factors in the crash.

Investigations are still being held.
