Stamford man in critical condition after car hydroplanes

Connecticut (August 14,2011)  A Stamford man is in critical condition after a car accident which took place on I-95 South.

The driver, Tonin Gjetaj, a 61-year-old man was driving through Greenwich when the accident occurred. Gjetaj was traveling southbound on I-95, North of exit 4 when his car began to hydroplane.

The vehicle went off the roadway, onto the right shoulder, hitting a light pole. It then traveled up an embankment, hitting a large rock, traveled back down the embankment before finally coming to rest in the right lane.

According to police reports, Gjetaj was the only one in the vehicle. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he is in critical condition.
