SUV Driver killed on I-95

Florida (September 10, 2011)  The driver of an Infiniti SUV was killed on I-95 around 6:20 a.m. after being rear-ended by a tractor-trailer near Exit 61-Lantana Road.  The driver of the SUV, Raynald Petigny, was south on I-95 in the center lane traveling at an extremely low speed when the tractor-trailer struck his vehicle.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol the truck driver, Jonathan Toledo, attempted to swerve around the slow moving SUV, but the trailer bed slammed into the left rear of the Infiniti SUV.

Raynald Petigny was not wearing a seat belt, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the driver may have been texting at the time of the fatal collision.  Jonathan Toledo, the driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

All five lanes of I-95 south were closed for three hours as the Florida Highway Patrol investigated the fatal accident.
