Tanker Truck Accident Kills One, 6 Seriously Injured

New Hampshire (July 27, 2011)  According to the New Hampshire State Police one person has been killed and several people critically injured in an accident on Interstate 95 north. 

The multiple vehicle crash happened around 9 p.m. at mile marker 8.6, between Exit 3/Greenland and Exit 2/Hampton involving a Tanker truck that was hauling water and two other vehicles.  A 2008 Honda Accord, driven by Sylvia Hull, collided with a Tanker truck, driven by Robert Goodman, in the northbound lanes of I-95.

The car became wedge underneath the Tanker truck and both vehicles crossed the median, slamming into a third vehicle, driven by Alden Milton, that was traveling south on I-95.  One person in the Milton’s vehicle traveling south was pronounced dead at the scene, Alden Milton and another passenger were seriously injured.

It took rescue workers over an hour to free Sylvia Hull from her vehicle, as a crane was required to lift the Tanker truck off of her mangled Honda Accord.  Sylvia Hull taken by medevac helicopter to Maine Medical Center, the two other passengers in her vehicle were taken to the Hospital.

Interstate 95 has been shut down in both directions as State Police and Paramedics assist the victims.  The northbound lanes of I-95 were reopened at 11 p.m. and the southbound lanes were able to be reopened at 11:30 p.m.  Traffic was backed up for miles in both directions.

Update: Authorities have identified the woman killed in the horrific accident as Doris Gardner.
