Teen killed after getting run over on I-95

Florida (August 30, 2011)  According to the Florida Highway Patrol a teenager was killed on Interstate 95 at Exit 31- Oakland Park Boulevard around 11:30 a.m. after being run over by a boat trailer.

Kevin Nolan Ryan Van Vorce, 19, jumped onto the boat trailer that was being pulled by a Freightliner flatbed when it stopped in traffic on Oakland Park Boulevard.

The driver of the flatbed truck, Barry Richardson Brown, was unaware the 19-year-old had boarded the trailer.  The driver proceeded to get on the northbound entrance ramp for I-95, when Van Vorce tried to slide off of the trailer.

The Florida Highway Patrol say Van Vorce fell onto Interstate 95 and was run over by the rear tires of the boat trailer. He was transported to North Broward Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal accident.
