Three car collision, Driver flees scene

Connecticut (December 26, 2011) The driver of a 1998 Dodge Caravan fled the scene on foot after colliding with a State Trooper on I-95 in Stamford.  The three-car crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Interstate 95 south near Exit 7-Greenwich Avenue.

A Caravan was traveling south on I-95 when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck the concrete bridge barrier causing it to spin back into the left lane and crash into Trooper Clinton Desoto.  The force of the impact sent Desoto’s cruiser slamming into the center barrier, before coming to a stop in the left lane.  Finally a 2002 Nissan Sentra struck the police cruiser from behind.

The driver of the Caravan fled the scene of the accident.

Trooper Desoto was injured and taken to Stamford Hospital.  Four occupants of the Sentra sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.
