Three Killed in I-95 accident in Florida

Florida (September 14, 2012)  Three men were killed in an accident on Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County.  The crash occurred shortly after 10:15 a.m. Friday morning in the northbound lanes of I-95 in Boynton Beach near exit 56- Woolbright Road, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Two vehicles, a Toyota Tundra and a Ford pickup truck, were stopped along the emergency lane of the Interstate with all five male passengers outside  trying to fix a mechanical problem.  Cheryl Lee Daugherty was driving her 2004 Mercedes when for some unknown reason she lost control of the vehicle slamming into the back of the Toyota Tundra and hitting all five men.

Andrew Hickey, a 42-year-old male from Deerfield Beach, died at the scene of the accident.

Christopher Andrews, a 25-year-old male from Pompano Beach, died at the scene of the accident.

A 61-year-old male from Deerfield Beach also was killed.

Cheryl Lee Daugherty was taken to Bethesda Hospital.  She was driving with a suspended license.

The accident is under investigation.
