Three vehicle Collision on I-95 in Bangor

Maine (November 7, 2011)  A three vehicle accident closed the northbound lanes of I-95 early Monday morning in Bangor.

The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. near Exit 183 when Travis Havener, driving a 2001 Subaru Legacy swerved to avoid hitting a deer.  The vehicle crashed into the center metal guardrail.  Havener and his passengers were able to exit the Legacy before it was struck by a Subaru Outback, driven by Michael Libby.  A third vehicle, a Honda Accord, driven by Joshua Robinson, then struck the Legacy.

Joshua Robinson was injured and transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The Maine State Police were forced to close Interstate 95 north for about an hour as they worked the accident scene.

Travis Havener has been charged with operating without a license according to Trooper Tucker Bonnevie
