Tractor-trailer and Car Collision Causes Traffic Jam

Florida (October 13, 2011)  A two vehicle accident tied up I-95 for several hours on I-95 Thursday afternoon around 3 p.m..  According to the Florida Highway Patrol a tractor-trailer and car collided on I-95 north near Exit 45-Glades Road.  The collision caused the tractor-trailer’s fuel tank to leak, spilling diesel fuel onto Interstate 95.

The Boca Raton Fire-Rescue responded to the scene to contain and clean up the diesel fuel.  Authorities shut down three lanes while the crews cleaned up the debris.  Traffic was backed up for over 4 miles during the evening rush.

No one was injured in the accident.

All lanes were re-opened around 5 p.m.
