Tractor-trailer fire on I-95

Rhode Island (November 11, 2011)  A tractor-trailer caught fire on I-95 north closing one lane in Hopkinton.  According to the Rhode Island State Police the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on I-95 near Exit 1-Route 3 when a fire ignited in the cab of the tractor-trailer.

The fire department also responded to the scene and was able to extinguish the fire.  The driver of the tractor-trailer was able to get safely out of the truck and did not suffer any injuries.

One lane of I-95 north was closed for two hours as crews worked the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
