Maryland (October 14, 2011) A jackknifed tractor-trailer on I-95 south forced the closure of two lanes in Hartford County. According to the Maryland State Police the accident occurred around 11 a.m. just before Exit 80 when a tractor-trailer jackknifed in the southbound lanes. The accident caused the truck to leak diesel fuel, forcing authorities to close the right two lanes of I-95 south.
The Fire department and HazMat team responded to the scene to clean up the spill and transfer the remaining fuel into tanks.
Traffic backed up as only one lane of I-95 was open.
The Maryland State Police are investigating the accident.
