Trooper Crashes in Obama Motorcade

Virginia (October 18, 2011)  A Virginia State Trooper was injured when he crashed his motorcycle on I-95 south.   Sgt. J.L. Kirkpatrick was traveling south on I-95 as part of a presidential tour bus motorcade.  Sergeant Kirkpatrick was on security detail for President Barack Obama when his motorcycle went off the left side of the ramp at Exit 8- Emporia and overturned.

Sergeant Kirkpatrick sustained abrasions and was treated at the scene.  He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

President Obama was in Virginia trying to gain support for his American Jobs Act, he was speaking at Greensville High School.
