Two car accident injures four

Massachusetts (August 12, 2011) According to the Massachusetts State Police a two car accident injured 4 people on I-95 south near Exit 27 in Waltham. Around 8:30 p.m. Joseph Lupo, the driver of a 2010 Ford Explorer was traveling south on I-95 in the far left lane when his vehicle was struck by a 2009 Honda Civic, driven by Yamel Jimenez.

Jimenez lost control of her Civic causing the collision with the Ford Explorer, the force of the impact sent the Explorer into a jersey barrier causing it to roll over coming to rest on the driver side on top of a metal guardrail. The Civic rolled over, sustaining significant damage to the front end.

Yamel A. Jimenez, 26, has a prior arrest for drunken driving related to an accident on June 27, 2011.

Several good Samaritans stopped to offer aid until medical personnel arrived.

Joseph Lupo, the driver of a Explorer sustained minor injuries and was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Yamel Jimenez, 26, and her two passengers, ages 4 and 8 were also injured. Yamel Jimenez was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital, the two children were transported by ambulance to Children’s Hospital.

Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of the accident. All lanes of I-95 were reopened by 11:30 p.m.
