Two Injured In Crash, One Vehicle Rolls over

Florida (September 26, 2011)  A two-vehicle accident on I-95 north around 7:50 a.m. sent both drivers to the hospital.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol the crash happened just past Exit 126-Midway Road when a Mercury Sable attempted to make a lane change and crashed into a Ford Explorer.

The driver of the Sable, 52 year-old Valerie Greenwasser, was traveling northbound on I-95 in the far left lane.  Joseph Wallace, 16, was driving his Ford Explorer in the far right lane.  Wallace had changed into the center lane as they approached Exit 126, when Greenwasser also attempted to change to the center lane.  The back rear of the Sable collided with front of the Explorer causing the Sable to spin out and strike a pole.  Wallace was unable to maintain control of the Explorer which rolled over several times before coming to rest on the side of the road.

Valerie Greenwasser sustained serious injuries and was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute.  Joseph Wallace was also injured and transported to the Hospital.

Authorities closed the northbound lanes for a short period of time as they investigated the scene and assisted the victims.
