Two Men killed in single vehicle crash on I-95 in North Carolina

North Carolina (July 23, 2012)  Two men were killed in an accident on I-95 in Robeson County.  The crash occurred shortly before midnight in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near mile marker 27, Exit 19(Carthage Road) according to Highway Patrol.

Avon Lamont Brown Jr., was driving a 2003 Honda in excess of 115 mph when he veered off the right side of I-95 hitting several small ditches, resulting in the vehicle to go airborne and smashing roof first into a tree.  The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to split in two.

The driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the Honda.  Brown, a 31-year-old male from Baltimore, MD was transported to Southeastern Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

A passenger,Edward Anthony Crudup, an 18-year-old male from Baltimore, MD was stuck in the front half of the car and died at the scene of the accident.  He was wearing a seat belt.

The accident is under investigation.
