Two Police Cruisers hit on I-95

Virginia   (November 19, 2011)   An accident involving a 70-year-old man and two Virginia State Police cruisers occurred Saturday afternoon on Interstate 95 north near exit 156.According to Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller, at around 3:30 p.m. a 2004 Lexus sedan,driven by Robert Korinchak, hit a police cruiser that was pulled over at an accident scene.

Korinchak then proceeded to drift out of the left lane and rear-ended another patrol car driven by Trooper B.J. Norris.  The collision happened while Norris was getting out of his patrol car.  The impact was forceful enough to cause the door to slam on the officer’s leg and push his vehicle into a Hyundai with children inside.

Trooper Norris sustained minor injuries.  No one else was injured.

Robert  Korinchak will be charged with reckless driving.
