Two women killed on I-95 in North Carolina

North Carolina (July 11, 2012) Two women were killed in an accident on Interstate 95 in Nash County.  The crash occurred shortly before 6:00 a.m. just north of Rocky Mount in the southbound lanes according to State Troopers.

Jeanie Davism, a 48-year-old female from Enfield, for some unknown reason had stopped her 1990 Honda Accord in the right hand lane of southbound I-95. A tractor-trailer, driven by James Myers Jr., came upon the stopped vehicle and tried to veer around it but could not avoid the vehicle due to traffic.  The tractor-trailer landed on top of the Honda Accord, killing both Davism and her 26-year-old passenger, Sharonda Hendricks.

The accident is under investigation.
