Woman Critical After Her Explorer Overturns

Rhode Island (September 22, 2011)  A woman was critically injured in an early morning accident on I-95 in Pawtucket.  According to the Rhode Island State Police a Ford Explorer overturned around 4:30 a.m. between Exits 29 and 30.

The driver, Anna Jackson, was traveling north on I-95 when she lost control of her vehicle and struck the concrete wall.  The impact caused the vehicle to roll over, before finally coming to rest on the passenger side.

Anna Jackson was partially ejected, and rescue crews had to extricate her from under the Explorer.  The victim was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital with critical injuries.

Authorities believe Jackson was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The Rhode Island State Police are investigating the accident.
